Summer 2019 - NCFCA Speech & Debate Camp
Legacy for Christ is excited about offering a NCFCA Speech and Debate Camp this summer.
We will have alumni-taught Intermediate/Advanced and Beginner Lincoln Douglas and Team Policy
three-day camps, Monday-Wednesday, July 22-24 (10:00am - 3:30pm), and a combined parent/
alumni-taught two-day speech camp on Thursday and Friday, July 25-26 (10:00am - 3:30pm).Both our LD and TP camps are designed for ages 12 and up, while our Speech camp is for age 10 and up.

Our Beginner camp will equip beginners with a solid foundation and include the following:
• the format and structure of debate
• research skills
• how to construct a case
• how to ask good cross-examination questions
• how to construct well thought out responses.
Our Intermediate/Advanced camp will help seasoned debaters step up their game with coaching in the following:
• advanced research techniques
• writing strong cases and briefs
• cross-examination strategies
* advanced rebuttals
Debate Camp:
LD 3-Day Camp is $125.00
TP 3-Day Camp is $125.00
Speech Camp:
Speech 2-Day Camp is $75.00
All three camp options will stress critical thinking skills and provide plenty of hands-on-practice!

Speech Camp Coach
​The plan for speech camp includes sessions covering the following:
Speech delivery training
vocal delivery
physical delivery
memorization tips
How to incorporate humor into your speech
Impromptu
how to approach quotes
how to approach phrases
how to approach abstracts
putting together an Impromptu notebook
Platform speeches
choosing a topic
writing a speech
polishing a speech
understanding your judges
Interps
selecting a piece
cutting a piece
character and scene development
We will accomplish all of this with lots of fun activities to keep the students engaged.
​Speech Camp is for students age 10 and up.
This year we will be adding private coaching sessions for more advanced students who already have speeches or interps ready to go. Sign-up for these sessions will be sent out once registration closes.
